Karen Seay Eaves

KAREN "SUSIE" SEAY EAVES, age 73, formerly of Charleston, died Friday, December 10, 2021, at the home of her niece in Sikeston.

She was born March 27, 1948, at Cairo, IL, to the late Ray Lovett and Ruth French Lovett and was a graduate of Charleston High School.   Susie went on to nursing school where she would graduate and work as a registered nurse for almost 52 years.  She attended the Charleston Church of the Nazarene for many years until its closing.   Susie had a beautiful soprano voice and would sing in church with her longtime friend, Hazel Bouler at the piano.  She also sang in the Charleston Community Choir under the direction of Betty Hearnes for a number of years.   A lifelong Charleston Blue Jay, she was an avid supporter of all things at Charleston Schools, including the sports and music programs.

She was married to James Garland Eaves who preceded her in death October 14, 2016.

Surviving are her sons, Chad Seay, Cory Seay and Clay Seay; her grandchildren, Jacob, Kaelyn, Landry and Chancey; her sisters, Deanna Lovett Carlisle and Linda Lovett Els; nieces and nephew, Donna, Dana, Cindy, Justin and Lacey; as well as many great nieces and nephews and a number of cousins and friends.

Private family services will be held.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
