Katherine Marlene "Kathy" Grigsby, 62, died at her home in
Sikeston Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. She was born May 29, 1952 in Sikeston to the late Willie Garfield and Agnes Lucille (Dillender) McCanless. A resident of this area most of her life, she had lived in California for about 17 years. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and had worked at Burch Foods and King's Laundry. She was first married to Patrick Caetano in June, 1971 in Hughson, California; then on Jan 1, 1990 she was married to Glen Grigsby in Sikeston and he preceded her in death April 28, 2007. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Adam Caetano and May Rico of Modesto, California.; 5 brothers: Bob (Betty) McCanless of Camdenton, MO; Elvis (Carolyn) McCanless of Mt. Home, Ark; Tommy (Janice) McCanless of Belgrade, MO; Rocky (Gail) McCanless of Scott City and Keith (Carolyn) McCanless of Sikeston; 7 sisters: Billie (Bill) Criddle of Oak Ridge; Juanita Goines of Poplar Bluff; Doris (A.C.) Adams of Sikeston; Patsy Criddle of Orlando; Betty Kinder of Sikeston; Linda (Erik) Anderson of Tavares, Fla; and Sandra Hupp of Sikeston. She was preceded in death by two brothers Jim & Dale McCanless. Visitation will be at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Sunday from 5 until 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, Jan 12 also at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Her brother, Rev. Tom McCanless will officiate and will be assisted by the pastor, Rev. Jerry Adams. Burial will follow at 12 noon at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
