KATIE IONE GREEN, age 81, formerly a resident of Diehlstadt, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis.

She was born November 9, 1928, at McClellan, Arkansas to the late Len and Edna Wood Allen. She had lived in Diehlstadt most of her life where she was a member of the General Baptist Church.

On January 31 1953 she married Malcolm J. Green Jr. who preceded her in death on December 10, 2003.

Surviving are three sons and daughters in law, Glenn and Karen Green of Cedar Hill, Ricky and Lana Green of Kelso, and Wayne and Denise Green stationed with the US Army in Afghanistan; two daughters and sons in law, Mary Elizabeth and Charles Sanders and Nancy and Earl Huff all of Ocala; FL; one brother, Sam Allen of St. Louis, and one sister, Mildred Lester of Olathe, KS; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Charles Sanders Jr., killed in military duty in Afghanistan; one brother, and five sisters.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dewayne Kirkpatrick, Pastor of the General Baptist Church in Diehlstatdt, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
