SIKESTON — Kenneth Dunn Cox, 66, died at 8:12 a.m. on March 13, 2012, at his home in Sikeston.
Born Sept. 15, 1945, in Rector, Ark., son of the late Benjamin Wilbert and Bessie Mae Wilson Cox, he was a route driver for Dr Pepper and a lead man for Martin Sprockett and Gear in Paragould, Ark. He also worked in sales for Auto Zone and was a truck driver for Em-Cal Trucking in Matthews. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War and was a former member of the VFW in Rector. He was also a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Sikeston, where he has lived since 1994.
On Dec. 22, 1963, in Piggott, Ark., he married Glenda Horton, who preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 1993. He then married Carolyn N. Nowell Williams on June 11, 1994, at Providence Baptist Church in Lafe, Ark., and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and two-daughters-in-law, Kenneth W. and Stephanie Cox of Paragould, Mark S. Williams of Sikeston and Scott D. and Shelly Williams of Farmington; one daughter, Marie Vaughn of Paragould; one brother, Wilson B. Cox of Hamptonville, N.C.; one sister, Vondell Dawson of Salisbury, Md.; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Tom Cox and Buster Cox; and one sister, Cassie Martin, also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m. Monday at the Providence Baptist Church in Lafe. The Rev. John Tarter, pastor of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and The Rev. Gary Morris, pastor of Providence Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Harvest Chapel Cemetery at Marmaduke.
Pallbearers will be: Kenny Cox, Mark Williams, Scott Williams, Kirk Coward, Landon Williams and Christian Cox.
