KENNETH DAVIS "KENNY" GARRETT SR., Age 62, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home in Charleston.

Born May 27, 1951, at Charleston, MO, to the late Paul and Ailene Allen Garrett, he had lived in Charleston most of his life where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Union Local #513. He had attended the Elm Street Baptist Church.

On September 5, 1969, he married Sally Marie McMillen, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: two sons and one daughter in law, Kenny Garrett, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Charleston and Kevin Garrett, Jr., also of Charleston; one granddaughter whom he raised, Kyleigh Marie Garrett of Charleston; one brother Wayne Garrett of St. Louis, MO and also five additional grandchildren, Justin Garrett, Hunter Garrett, Austin Glastetter, Gracie Garrett and Kevin Wayne Garrett, Jr.

One brother, Gary Garrett and one sister, Donna Fannon, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Elijah Allen, chaplain with Preferred Hospice of Dexter, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Paul Fannon, Hunter Garrett, Scott Pazdera, Larry Estes, David Wilson and Dennis Thurman.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Jack Groves, Justin Garrett and Kyleigh Marie Garrett.
