Obituary

KENNETH RAY 'KENNY' OATSVALL, Age 63, a resident of East Prairie, died Saturday, September 04, 2010 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 14, 1947, in the Hough Community of New Madrid County, Missouri to Audrey Lee Shannon Oatsvall who survives of East Prairie and the late Hershel Oatsvall, he had lived in East Prairie most of his life and retired from Noranda Aluminum at New Madrid after 29 years. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga and later volunteered to go to Vietnam where he stayed until his enlistment was over and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4294 in Charleston. A loving husband, father and "Pappy", he was loved by all that knew him.

On March 3, 1972, he married Brenda Kay Grogan, who survives of the home in East Prairie.

Surviving besides his wife and mother are: one son and daughter in law, Jeff and Miayh Santie Oatsvall of Malden, MO; two daughters and sons in law, Jody and Jeff Cogdill and Julia Ann and John Livingston Walton all of East Prairie; one brother and sister in law, Bob and Janet Nelson Oatsvall of East Prairie; three sisters and brothers in law, Barbara and James Burns of Fancy Farm, KY; Mary and Larry Cooper and Vicky and Marty Hutcheson all of East Prairie; 13 grandchildren, Johnathan Troy Midkiff, Robert Livingston Walton, Whitney Elizabeth Walton, Angelica Marie Walton, Noah Simon Walton, Joshua Lucas Walton, Sarah Grace Walton, Brandon Eugene Oatsvall, Kendra Lee Oatsvall, Jordan Jeffrey Beaird, Ashley Kaylee Beaird, Aubrey Cogdill and Matthew McClendon; two great grandchildren, Savannah Rose Walton and Awleigh Jain Walton.

Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Mike Johnson, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the United States Navy and The Missouri Military Honors Program.

Pallbearers will be: Shannon Oatsvall, Chris Oatsvall, Chucky Reed, Randy Oatsvall, Jamie Burns and Benjamin Brown.

Arrangements are under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
