KENNETH JEWELL MANKER, SR., Age 70, formerly of Charleston, MO, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his home in Murray, Kentucky.
Born August 8, 1941, at Charleston, MO to the late James and Helen Toombs Manker, he had lived in Murray a number of years where he was employed as the District Sales Manager for the Bunny Bread Company with over 37 years of service and from 1969 to 2002 he was in the Murray, Ky. area. He was a former member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
On September 23, 1961, he married Brenda Sue Long, who survives of the home in Murray, KY.
Also surviving are: two sons and daughters in law, Ken Manker, Jr. and his wife Carol, of Grand Rivers, KY and Terry Manker, Sr. and his wife Regina, of Paducah, KY; one daughter and son in law, Kelly Vaughn and her husband Jamie, of Russellville, AR; four brothers, James (Gayle) Manker of Canyon Lake, TX; Ray Manker of St. Louis, MO; David (Alpha) Manker of Charleston, MO and Donnie (Diane) Manker of Atoka, TN; three sisters, Judy (Gordon) Holzem of Springville, TN; Norma (Jan) Sommer of Sparta, IL and Melba (Jim) Stricker of Cape Girardeau, MO; his grandchildren Ashley (Paul) Lanier, Terry Manker, Jr. (Loretta Miller), Lindsey Manker, Chelsea Vaughn, Jacob Manker, Adam Vaughn and Kenslee Vaughn; great granddaughter, Chloe Lanier; sister in law, Shirley Manker of Lola, KY; a number of nieces and nephews and his beloved friend, his dog Josie.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Manker and one brother, Paul Manker.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Father Glenn Eftink, pastor, serving as celebrant.
Interment with full military honors provided by the United States Marines and the Missouri Military Honors Program will follow at the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston, Mo.
