Kenneth "Kenny" Floyd Jones

April 22, 1935-June 5, 2024

Kenneth "Kenny" Floyd Jones, age 89, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born April 22, 1935, in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to the late Robert E. Jones and Mary L. Flannigan. Later raised by his mom, Belvia P. Jones and father, Robert E. Jones.

Kenneth grew up working on his family farm. From a young age, he learned the value of sweat and toil, rising with the dawn to tend to the fields. These early experiences instilled in him a profound understanding of the cycles of nature and the importance of stewardship.

Kenneth graduated from Gray Ridge High School Class of 1953 and later joined the military. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Kenneth married the love of his life, Judith Carolyn Dodge Jones, July 12, 1958.  Before asking for Judith's hand in marriage, Kenneth sought her father's blessing which was a true testament to Kenneth's character as a true gentleman.

Together they embarked on a shared adventure filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their bond was a testament to the power of enduring love, weathering life's storms hand in hand and cherishing each moment as a precious gift.

After retirement, Kenneth went to Seminary School and served as a pastor for several years. Kenneth and Judi served as missionaries, spreading the word and love of God across the Country. Kenneth is known for making craft angels that he used to share the word of God and passed them out across the Country.

Survived by his loving, devoted Wife, Judith Jones. His children; Carol Brock and husband Alan Brock, Kenneth Jones and wife Mindy Jones. Grandchildren; Ben Jones, Athena Jones, Andrew Tankersley, Mark Jones, Elizabeth Thornburgh, and Christopher Thornburgh. 15 Great Grandchildren. Siblings, Leveda Williams, Glenna Merrell, Mary Bull, Loyd Phillips. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and several other loved ones.

Preceded in death by his Children, David and Benny Jones. Grandchildren; David Tankersley and Kymberlie Jones. His parents; Robert Jones, Mary Flannigan and Belvia Jones. Siblings; James, Delmer, Elmer, Bill, Ozella, Gerald, Desmond, Clifford, Eula Mae Hubbard, Elizabeth Louis and Warren Smith.

His legacy lives on in the countless smiles he inspired and the hearts he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and positivity.

Family and friends may gather for graveside services with full military honors at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
