Kevin Rutledge

George Kevin Rutledge, age 59, of Sikeston, died Friday, January 17, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born November 19, 1965, in Dexter, MO, to the late George Franklin Rutledge and Shirley Katherine Hileman Rutledge, he had lived in Sikeston his entire life and when he was younger enjoyed participating in cub scouts and little league sports. In later years, he became an avid enthusiast of Drag Racing, which he loved to attend as much as he could.  Kevin was a master painter and drywall installer, a trade he learned from his father.  He first worked for his father at Delta Painting and Drywall and later formed his own company, Delta Drywall. He was currently employed with Marty Brown and the Royal Painting company.

Kevin is survived by the love of his life, Cynthia Kay Lewis Rutledge, of the home.

Also surviving are his children, Candace (Brent) Mullin of Sikeston and Kristin (Zach) Norman of Bloomfield; Jannie (Jamie) Tripp, Ronnie (Alexis) Brittain and James (Erica) Brittain; 13 grandchildren; his brother, Frank Rutledge; his sisters, Diane (Charles) Bennett, Gail (Rick) Hartzell, Peggy Price and Denise (Robert) Murphy; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell Warth and his mother-in-law, Patricia Henry Thurman.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.  Danny Hampton will offer the eulogy.

Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion-Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo., under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Danny Hampton, Tim Wall, Tim Wheetley, Tony Rucker, Harry Imhoff and Lanny Little.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Rutledge, Bently Tripp, Ronnie Brittain, Mark Moore, Brent Mullin and Daniel Waldo.
