Kitty Presson

Stella Catherine "Kitty" Presson, age 80, of Charleston, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the Charleston Manor.

Born July 17, 1939, at St. Louis, MO, to the late Gene Maxie McLaughlin and Helen Brook McLauglin, she lived in the St. Louis area a number of years moving to East Prairie in 1976. She moved to Charleston in 1985, and in 1993, took the position as head dietician for Charleston R-1 Schools. She retired in 2011. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

On June 22, 1978, she married Dan Presson, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are her children, Kenneth Schmidt of Arnold, MO; Lynda Fields of Jacksonville, FL; Vicki Mahan of Yuma, AZ and Dawn Oliphant of Arnold; her stepsons, Kevin Presson, Todd Presson, Tobie Presson and Randy Presson; sisters, Donna "Peachie" Oehlert of Imperial, MO and Karen Scurlock of Arnold, MO; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Ted Wimberley, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
