Larry Borders

Lawrence Eugene "Larry" Borders, age 72, died Monday, January 30, 2023, at his home in East Prairie.

Born October 3, 1950, at Charleston, MO, to the late George Dewey Borders and Nancy Oscille Fowler Borders, Larry grew up in Charleston and had worked as a painter for many years.  He had lived in East Prairie the past several years where he attended the First Baptist Church in East Prairie. He was a proud and active member of Celebrate Recovery.

Surviving is his longtime companion, Ruby Brewer, of East Prairie; his sons, David Harper and Brandon Borders; stepdaughter, Jeannie (Shawn) Billington; several grandchildren; his brothers, Billy Borders and James Borders; sisters, Frances Fox and Shirley Rice; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marshall Dewey Borders and Russell Borders and his sisters, Eunice Hudson, Louise Miller and Rosemary Pirtle.

There is no visitation.

Family and friends may assemble for graveside services at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
