Larry Earl Curtner, 77, a life-long resident of the Sikeston area, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1938 in Matthews to the late Clarence and Edith (Schaefer) Curtner. He had been an over-road truck driver, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Disabled American Veterans. On September 19, 1964 he married Lou Nell (Gregory) in Sikeston and she survives of the home. Also surviving are 1 son, Greg Curtner and 2 grandsons, Max Curtner and C.J. Curtner all of Sikeston and 1 sister, Glenda Ables of Springfield. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 11:00 am Friday until time for services at 1:00 p.m. His nephew, Terry Curtner from Shattuc, IL will officiate and burial, with full military honors, will follow at MO State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield at 3:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Greg Curtner, Max Curtner, C.J. Curtner, Brian Curtner, Phillip Curtner, Danny Curtner and Calvin Yardley.
