LARRY JUNIOR GRIMES, age 70, a resident of East Prairie, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Chaffee, MO.
Born December 25, 1941, at East Prairie, MO, to the late Rev. Raymond E. and Lela Bell Woods Grimes, he had lived in East Prairie most of his life and was a self-employed truck driver until his retirement in 2011. He had driven to every state in the continental United States.
Surviving are: one son, Larry Jeffrey Grimes of Benton; three daughters, Tammy Ann Mathews of Grovetown, GA; Angelia Kay Walker of Sikeston and Denise kay Kettles of Charleston; one brother, Jerry Grimes of East Prairie; one sister, Pamela Jernigan of East Prairie; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Alex Matthew Johnson, two brothers, Michael Grimes and Danny Grimes and by three sisters, Loretta Woods, Elizabeth Grimes and Delores Grimes.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012. Mark McSwain,of Jackson, TN, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Lightner Cemetery at Scott City under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
