Obituary

LaRue Riley, age 78, of Anniston, Mo., died Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehab Center in Bertrand, MO.

LaRue was born October 5, 1943, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Johnnie Knupp and Nina Owensby Knupp. A 1961 graduate of Anniston High School, she went on to work as a bookkeeper at the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston for 28 years.  She then became employed as a bookkeeper with Rafferty Farms where she remained until her retirement.  A lifelong member of the Anniston Christian Church, she had served as one of the church pianists since her youth and had also taught Sunday School.

On March 2, 1962, she married Ronnie Riley, who survives of the home.

Also surviving  is her son, Scott Riley of Anniston; one sister, Linda Rynearson of East Prairie; two granddaughters, Kristen (Jacob) Tripp of East Prairie and Lindsey (Matt) Medlock of Sikeston; three great grandchildren, Harper Elise Tripp, Parker Ray Tripp and Brooklyn Riley Medlock; also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Martin Lucas of East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Anniston Cemetery under the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Tommy Nolen, John Crawford, Daryll Riley, Alvin Riley, Jacob Tripp and Cody Bowles.
