IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura Beth
Grubbs
February 20, 1962 – July 21, 2025
Laura Beth Donoho Grubbs, of Sikeston, MO, was born on February 20, 1962, and knowing her probably with a dramatic flourish. She was a mother first and foremost- fiercely loving, wildly protective and completely, unapologetically herself. She left her earthly home Monday, July 21, 2025, in Sikeston.
She raised her children with a kind of love that burned hot- sometimes too hot- but always came from a place of deep care. She'd go to war for them (and sometimes nearly did) and while her methods were often unconventional, her devotion were never in question!
Beth was a force of nature she could be unpredictable, hilarious, stubborn, and often a little batshit crazy-in the way only someone with a giant heart and restless spirit can be. She loved hard, lived loud, and didn't take crap from anyone, and Rules were more like suggestions, and filters were something she never quite mastered (or cared to).
Beth Grubbs was born to John and Talmadge Donoho in Sikeston, Missouri, the youngest of five siblings. She is survived by her sisters Terri Learue and husband, Suzanne Reese, widow, and her brother John Donoho Jr. and wife, and a host of family friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Diana Kotrba, and her parents.
Beth found her soulmate in Terry Mark Grubbs, and they had quite the love story. They truly saved each other through total acceptance. As Terry always said, "Love you always and forever."
She was the proud mother of two daughters, Crystal Young (Luke Keene) and Lauralee Dye (Nick Benfield). Her love for them was fierce and limitless. As "Nanna" to Trenton Young, Madison Young, Cole Benfield, and Piper Benfield, Beth brought joy, wisdom, and warmth with a little crazy that will echo through generations.
Creative to her core, Beth was a passionate and crafty soul who embraced life fully and stood up fearlessly for what she believed in.
Her life was messy, beautiful, chaotic, and full. And while she didn't always take the easy path, she left behind unforgettable memories and the kind of legacy you don't forget- equal parts love, laughter, and just enough crazy to keep things interesting!
Her favorite reminder to those around her was: "Don't sweat the small stuff." A phrase we are not sure whom she was trying to convince us or herself.
Rest easy, Mom. Heaven just got a little louder!
