Obituary
LAWRENCE EUGENE "L.E." GALEMORE, age 87, formerly of Charleston died at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 11, 1922 in Corning, AR to the late L.E. and Daisy Goodman Galemore. He had lived in Charleston most of his life and served with the US Navy during WW II. In 1956 he opened Galemore Motor Company in Charleston and remained active in its operation until his retirement in 2005. He had attended the United Methodist Church in Charleston.
In 1940 he married Helen Marie Roach who preceded him in death on June 27, 1998.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry Galemore of Carbondale, CO, Lawrence Galemore (Jean) of Charleston, SC, and Richard Galemore (Debby) of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sandra Williams (Fred) of Ft. Myers, FL and Brenda Mutchler of Loveland, CO; 11 grandchildren, Donna Butler (Kevin) of Columbia S. C., Dana McClain (Shawn) of Charleston, Cindy Brown (Todd) of Paducah, Kentucky, Justin Galemore of Branson, Jana Jones (William) of Charleston, S. C., David Galemore of Summerville, S. C., Andrew Williams ( Michelle ), Sherri Spraberry
( Eddie)., of Ft. Collins, CO., Richard Galemore ( Kathy) of Keller, Texas., Steven Galemore (Amy) of Charleston,, Lynn Patterson (Chris) of Charlotte, N. C., and 29 great grandchildren. One brother, James Galemore of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Larry Coots, one brother, Joe Galemore, and one sister, Estalee Mulcahy.
Friends will assemble at the IOOF Cemetery for Graveside Services which will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Rev. Gerald Penn, Pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Missouri Military Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Rites and interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Richard Galemore, Justin Galemore, David Galemore, Steven Galemore,
and Andrew Williams
