Lenny Gene Jernigan, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in East Prairie, MO, Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

He was born November 21, 1960, at St. Louis, MO, to the late Billy J. Jernigan and Carolyn Joyce Wolford Grisso. Lenny had lived in East Prairie most of his life and had been employed as an over the road truck driver.  He was of Baptist belief.

On June 5, 1982, he married Janie Burney, who survives of the home.

Also surviving is his daughter, Ceptamber Dwan (Joshua) Morris of East Prairie; his granddaughter, Nadia Ines Tiquila of East Prairie; his brother, Greg Jernigan of East Prairie; his sisters, Priscilla (Richard) Henry of Charleston and Melissa (Jay) Shands of Marble Hill; also, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
