Leroy James Blasingain, Sr., age 67, a resident of East Prairie, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Born August 26, 1956, at Wolf Island, MO, to the late James Leroy Blasingain and Ruby Lee Ricketts Blasingain, he had lived in East Prairie his entire life.  For over 50 years, he was employed with Marshall Farms near Charleston.

On May 7, 1981, he married Kimberly Ann Summerfield, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his children, Leroy James Blasingain of Sikeston; Misty (Rodney) Basham and Jason (Jennifer Vinson) Blasingain both of East Prairie; special family friend, Jennifer Edwards; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; his brothers, Mike Blasingian and Clyde Staggs of East Prairie; his sister, Dyanne Haddock of Clinton, TN; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Robert "Jamey" Blasingain; his great grandson, Daryl Ray Riley, III; and his brothers Robert Staggs, Gary Staggs and Don Williams and his sister, Judy Keck.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Keith Cook of East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Lee Blasingain, Austin Lee Blasingain, Jeremiah Blasingain, Rodney Basham, Dewayne Haddock and Randy Cook.    Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Bone.
