Obituary

LESLIE ELMER TROUSDALE, Age 80, formerly of Sedgewickville and also Mississippi County, MO, died Tuesday, September 02, 2008 at the DeGreeff Hospice Center in St. Louis, MO.

He was born July 19, 1928 at Shawneetown, IL to the late Abner Pulaski and Mary Elizabeth Smith Trousdale. He was employed with General Motors for a number of years until his retirement and was a member of the Community Church of Marble Hill.

On August 8, 1945, he married Helen Louise Shaw who preceded him in death February 14, 1993. He then married Ella Louise Oxford on November 23, 1996 and she survives of Jackson.

Also surviving are: two sons and daughters in law, Jesse Wayne and Marlene Trousdale of Cedar Hill, MO and Tommy Ray and Jean Trousdale of Sarasota, FL; three step daughters, Paula Andrews of Millersville, Linda Smith of Blodgett and Pat Bartels of Effingham, IL. Three grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a number of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were, one son, Danny Joe Trousdale; five brothers, David Trousdale, William "Doc" Trousdale, George Trousdale, Jim Trousdale and Arthur Trousdale and two sisters, Mae Woods and Cora Brooks.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Pastor Dianne Cook of the Community Church in Marble Hill and Rev. Wendell Farley of Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
