LILLIAN "LILL" ESTELLE GREER COX, age 92, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2013, in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Born on December 23, 1920 in Poplar Bluff, MO, she was the daughter of De Witt and Estelle Pool Greer. Following her graduation from Poplar Bluff High School, she married L. Raleigh Cox on February 1, 1941 and they moved to Michigan for a 2 year stay during WWII. In 1948, they moved to Charleston where they established and operated Economy Furniture Co. with Lillian serving as Office Manager, Merchandise Buyer and Interior Decorator until their retirement in the early 1980's. She was a 65 year member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston. Among the things Lill enjoyed were music, especially singing, and gardening and raising plants for which she received numerous awards. Another favorite activity was traveling. She made several trips to Europe, visited the Orient and Latin America but the trip she especially enjoyed was to the Holy Land. Her first priority was always her family, however, and she always looked forward to being included in our lives and activities. It was our joy to include her for as her children we consider it a privilege to "rise up and call her blessed". Prov 31:28.
Her husband, L. Raleigh Cox, preceded her in death on August 30, 1986. She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Lin Cox, four brothers and three sisters.
