LILLIE B. SMOTHERMAN, Age 95, a resident of Charleston, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Charleston Manor.

Born November 13, 1917, at Tiptonville, TN, to the late Benjamin and Velma Lou Adams, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she had been employed with the Brown Shoe Company a number of years and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

On October 5, 1945, she married Cortell "Ted" Smotherman, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1992.

Surviving are: one son and daughter and law, Kenneth and Delila Whitehead of Wynne, AR; one daughter and son in law, Deborah and Rick Smoot of Charleston; three grandsons, Ted Richard (Kim) Whitehead, Kenneth Eugene ( Jo Ann) Whitehead and Jordan Ray (Rebecca) Smoot; one great grandson, Evan Whitehead and one great granddaughter, Trisha Lee Ann Whitehead.

One grandson, Dustin Lee "Dusty" Smoot; four brothers, B.W. Adams, Lewis Adams, Layton Wade Adams and Rueben Adams and two sisters, Mattie Ethridge and Betty Jean Walden, all preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time for the memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Michael Brewer, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Charleston will officiate.

Private interment will be at a later date at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
