LINDA C. BREWER, age 65, a resident of Charleston, formerly of Mt. Juliet, TN, died Wednesday, January 30, 2012 in Mt. Juliet.
Born June 18, 1947 in Nashville, TN, she had lived in Mt. Juliet, TN until moving to Charleston, MO in 2005. Linda was a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and Middle Tennessee State University, College of Education. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Nashville and First Baptist Church, Charleston, MO where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Associate VBS Director and Women's Ministry Bible Study mentor. Linda retired after 32 and one half years of faithful ministry with LifeWay Christian Resources (Baptist Sunday School Board). She began her career with Lifeway serving in the Sunday School Department, followed by Conference Center Promotion Section, Church Resources Division as a Curriculum Specialist, and then Network Partnership Consultant. During her tenure she was awarded the highest employee recognition by receiving the Career of Excellence Award. In her retirement years she continued to serve the Kingdom of God, working with State Baptist Conventions, Associations, Churches and individuals. Linda's ministry and influence will continue on this earth while she embraces her rewards in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend Michael W. Brewer of Charleston, MO; stepchildren, Justin (Keelie) Brewer of Edgefield, SC, Jonathan David Brewer of Hilo, HI and Philip Michael Brewer of Murphysboro, IL; grandchildren, James and Will Brewer; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (James) Hamilton of Martinez, GA and Joan Brewer of Garden City, SC; close family friends and former co-workers of LifeWay Christian Resources, Nashville, TN; her family at First Baptist Church, Charleston, MO, and her beloved beagle, "Katy Scarlett O'Brewer".
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.L. and Lois Jennings Telford and by her aunt, Emma Jennings Armstrong.
