Lonntayvis “Tayvis” Donnell McCatrey was born on November 5, 2009, to Soronya McCatrey and Dionte Anderson and passed away on January 29, 2026.
Lonntayvis (affectionately known as Tayvis) loved basketball. He loved to play his game. He loved being outside hanging with his friends. He was very shy and bashful, yet he had a smile so bright it could light up a room. Lonntayvis was a student at Charleston High School. He was very smart. he was well loved by his community and friends.
Lonntayvis was preceded in death by Ladonna McCatrey (God Mother), Perry Williams, Jr., G’Rajae Moore (aunt), and Najuan Neal, maternal grandfather Perry Williams, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Soronya McCatrey, his father, Dionte Anderson and siblings: Harmony Davis, Swayne Miles, Jr., Re’Son Turner, Ryson Turner, Brandon Jarrett, Esstazia McCatrey, Mauresha (Phillip) Turner, Orlandis (Emmanuel) Adams, Moesha McCatrey. Maternal grandparents: Mary Ann McCatrey. Paternal grandparents: Christopher Craig and Angela Craig. A special man whom Lonntayvis called grandpa, Richard. Great Grandparents: Essie Mae McCatrie, Ocie Hampton, Jamesie Williams, Perry Williams, Sr., Kemy Smith, Shirley Smith, Peggy Anderson. Special Godparents: Cornel Jones, Ladonna McCatrey. Aunts: Qualithia McCatrey, Brianna Harden, Lountria Fisher, Faith Gillespie, Hezekiah Gillespie, Perry Williams III, James Durden JaQuavion Anderson, Leonard Lamar.
Special dedication to his second mom, Shanequa Hines. Special place holders in Lonntayvis’ heart: Malcolm Johnson Jr., Markarious Banks, Mario Clemons III, Gorvarious Johnson, Gervarious Johnson, Omaruons Johnson, and Kyler Evans.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Monday, February 16, 2026, at the United Methodist Church, 1700 East Marshall Street in Charleston, MO.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
