LORENE FERN TAYLOR CAIN, age 85, a resident of Bertrand, died Friday, May 05, 2017, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born January 1, 1932, at Holcomb, MO, to the late William Francis "Frank" Taylor and Edna Mae Hester Taylor, she was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Bertrand, Mo. She had been employed a number of years as a fancy stitch operator with the Brown Shoe Company at Charleston. For many years, she and her husband owned and operated Cain's Novelty with locations at Wyatt, Branson and Kimberling City.
On August 21, 1948, she married J.C. Cain, who preceded her in death on May 29, 2013.
Surviving are two sons, David (Ginny) Cain of Branson, MO and Tony (Melba) Cain of Bertrand; two daughters, Wanda (Leetis) Byrd of Bertrand and Margie (John) Brewer of Chattanooga, TN; one sister, Corene Showen of St. Louis; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Taylor, Melvin "Jack" Taylor and James Albert "Jim" Taylor and by one sister, Murel Fox.
Visitation will be held at McMikle Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2017. Funeral Service will be conducted in the McMikle Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10:00 am. Londa Richardson, Church of God, in Cleveland, TN will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be Trenton Cain, Veronique Cain, Chris Brewer, Jeremy Rouse, Dwayne Taylor, Landyn Scott, Garrett Vanderpool, David Cain, Tony Cain.
