LOUELLA BURTON HARPER, Age 63, a resident of Charleston, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born November 5, 1947, at Cairo, IL to the late Raymond and Mary Beatrice Clinton Burton, she had lived in Mississippi County her entire life and was employed at the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston for over 21 years. A member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was a 1966 Graduate of St. Henry Catholic High School where she had served as a cheerleading sponsor.
On March 2, 1973, she married James Ray Harper, who survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Jancie (Tony) Harper of Charleston and Jamie (Kenneth) Bailey of Bertrand. Two sisters, Theresa (Dan) Stephenson and Bonnie (Richard) Scheffer both of Charleston; one sister in law, Jill Burton of Charleston; two grandsons, Peyton Leland Brannon of Charleston and Kenneth Harper Bailey of Bertrand.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Joseph Burton; her father in law, Leland F. Harper and one sister in law, Eva Dean Harper Corbell.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Father Glenn Eftink, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
