Louella C. Williams, age 95 of East Prairie, formerly of Sikeston, died Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born April 17, 1929, at Granby, MO, to the late Perry and Cora Whitaker. Louella was no stranger to hard work. She grew up on the family farm in the great depression tending to eggs and strawberries to help with the family needs. Later in life, Louella moved with her children to Sikeston where she would settle and become a caregiver and housekeeper. The families she worked with became very dear to her. In recent years she lived in East Prairie to be near her daughter. Loella was of Nazarene belief.
She was married to Harold Williams who preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Melinda (Bill) Haney of East Prairie and her son, Hollis Yarrington of Los Angelos, CA; her grandsons, Chris Haney, Michael Haney and Lanell Haney, Jr.; her great grandsons, Landon Haney and Kayden Haney; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Lanell Yarrington and Terry Yarrington; her brothers, Perry Whitaker, Carl Whitaker and James Whitaker who was killed in action in World War II; as well as her sisters, Dolly Grant, Rosetta Wheeler and Eula Bailey.
As per her wishes, private family services will be held.
McMIkle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
