Obituary

Louise Mansfield Marks, age 85, of East Prairie, MO, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bertrand, MO.

Born December 7, 1939, at Farmington, MO, to the late Abel Antone Mansfield and Catherine Louise Gerlach Mansfield, she was a 1957 graduate of East Prairie High School where she had been named Prom Queen.  Louise had lived in Mississippi County most of her life and had attended the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie and most recently the Powerhouse of God Church in East Prairie.

Louise was no stranger to hard work. For many years she was employed at the East Prairie Garment Factory and later Brown Shoe Company in Charleston as well as helping alongside her husband with the farming operation.   Louise was a skilled and talented quilter and made over 200 quilts for many babies born throughout her community and in her family.

On December 4, 1982, she married E.J. Marks, who preceded her in death on September 6, 2020.

Surviving are her children, Keith Cook and Randy (Shari) Cook both of East Prairie and Donna (Buck) Jones of Bossier City, LA; her grandchildren, Joshua Cook, Landon Jones, Bryan Cook, Dustin Jones, Cynthia Cook-Campbell, Kristen Jones- Brezina, Devin Cook and Charles Rushing; a number of great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; her brothers and sisters, Georgia White, Elmer Mansfield, Brenda Rushing, Pam Arnold and Larry Mansfield; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lana Rhea Cook; her daughter in law, Barbara Cook; her brother, Clyde Mansfield and her sister, Myrtle Roleson.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025, at Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.  Eric McGruder and Jimmy Allen will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, MO.

Pallbearers will be Steve Ellis, Mark Counts, Mark Shands, Dale Hedges, Hunter Cook and Devin Cook.
