LOUISE THURMAN McINTYRE, age 94, formerly of Anniston, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the home of her daughter and son- in- law, Wanda and Johney Shoffner, on State Highway 105, Charleston.
She was born in Anniston, MO on March 9, 1921 to the late Pryor and Bertha Maude Cawthorne Thurman and had lived in Mississippi County her entire life. As a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she had served in several office capacities. She was a faithful member of the New Bethel Baptist Church where she was an active choir member, Sunday School teacher, and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She especially loved to help with 'Clean up' days. Louise loved music and especially loved singing special music with the choir.
In her early life, she was employed by Brown Shoe Factory and also worked at Wigdors, making pens. She was a dedicated neighbor and friend. She blessed people with her visits.
On May 21, 1942 she married Herman Edward McIntyre who after 45 years in marriage, preceded her in death on May 9, 1987.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Johney Shoffner of Charleston, two grandsons, Rodney Wade Shoffner and his wife, Lucianne and their daughters, Loralee Ellen and Katijane Elizabeth Shoffner of Munford, TN and Terry Brian Shoffner, his wife Karen and their children, Brittney Marcella Shoffner and Brian Thomas Shoffner of East Prairie, MO. She was also well loved by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
As the last survivor of her early family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Bouler, and Darlene Thurman; and four brothers, Lindsey Pryor "Boydie" Thurman, Robert "Bob" Thurman, Roy "Rube" Thurman and Kenneth Wayne Thurman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015, at the McMikle Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the Funeral Hour at 11:00 am. Rev. Ted Wimberley, pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Shoffner, Terry Shoffner, Brian Shoffner, Ron Chandler, Monte Thurman, and Dennis Gross.
