LOY GENE MILLER, Age 70, a resident of Diehlstadt, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Diehlstadt.
Born June 9, 1941, in Scott County, Missouri, to the late Jasper Utah and Alma Edith McClain Miller, he had lived in Scott and Mississippi Counties his entire life and was a retired farmer. In 1985, he was ordained as a General Baptist Minister and had served as the pastor of the Temple of Faith General Baptist Church in Sikeston a number of years.
On December 18, 1979, he married Dorothy Joan Parker, who preceded him in death on November 27, 2008.
Surviving are: one son, Joseph F. "Jody" Miller of Jacksonville, NC; one daughter, Sherry Murphy of Charleston; four stepsons, Robert Donaldson of Park Hills, MO; Timothy Donaldson and John Donaldson of Diehlstadt and David Donaldson of Atlanta, GA; six stepdaughters, Karen Bailey and Jo Ellen Meeks of Sikeston; Judy Schmidt of Portage De Souix, MO; Pattie Thompson and Milesa Curtis of both of Atlanta, GA and Jackie Lynn Carnell of Diehlstadt; one brother, Carl Miller of Benton; one sister, Carolyn Bellah of Sikeston; 6 grandchildren and a number of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Killed in the same incident were his sons Jasper Lewis Miller and Randy Gene Miller; preceding him in death were two brothers, J.W. Miller and Leo Miller and two sisters, Margaret Brothers and Della Mae Bryant.
Combined visitation for Loy Miller and his sons Jasper and Randy, will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Charleston. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at the United Methodist Church with Allan Rhyne, Raymond Hannah and Dean Wallace, officiating.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers for the combined service will be: Terry Humphrey, Terry Humphrey, Jr., Nathan Humphrey, Daniel "Boo" Meeks, Jeff Riley, Tim Vinson, Jeff Humphrey, Wilson Adams, Emory McKinney and Alfred Edward Murphy, Jr.
