Luanne Staples Hill of St. Louis, Missouri and formerly of Charleston, Missouri passed
away at the age of 79 on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in St. Louis.

Duncan Staples, Jr. and Golda Opal Staples. A graduate of Charleston High School,
she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
Early in her career, Luanne worked with her father at Staples Real Estate and Loan
Company in shopping center management. Upon her father's retirement, she substituted
as a teacher at the Charleston High School and after she moved to St. Louis, Luanne
worked as an executive assistant for Medicine Shoppe International until her retirement.
Luanne had a great love for her family including her many pet dogs, cats, and childhood
horse Traveler. She was an active member of Dorsett Village Church and enjoyed
volunteering in the nursery. Luanne loved walks with her dog, baking delicious desserts,
singing along to her favorite songs, enjoying sun and water at the pool, and spending
time with her family and friends.
She followed her parent's passion in supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
and as an advocate of providing a safe haven for all animals she supported The
Humane Society of Missouri.
Luanne is survived by her brother, George Gaylen (Nancy) Staples of Glenview, Illinois;
her son, Scott (Janelle) Hill of Phoenix, Arizona; her daughters, Robbin Hansen (Michael
Ragan) of Louisville, Kentucky, Amy (Christopher) Garrison of Creve Coeur, Missouri,
and Heather (Jim) Cooksey of Matthews, Missouri; her grandchildren, Kayla Hill, Colten
(Renee) Hill, Caine Hill, Jordan (Megan) Snyder, Adam Cooksey, Delaney Cooksey, and
Calleigh Cooksey; her great grandchildren, Leo and London Snyder; her niece, Dianne
(Mark) Hively of Glenview, Illinois; her nephew, Duncan Staples of Sarasota, Florida; her
great niece Renee Hively of Glenview, Illinois; and great nephews Evan and Curtis
Hively of Glenview Illinois.
Preceding Luanne in death are her parents Golda Opal (Pope) Staples and George
Duncan Staples, Jr. of Charleston, Missouri.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2020, at the McMikle
Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside services will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m., at
the Smith-Griggs Cemetery near Wyatt.@ Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Garrison, Jordan Synder, Caine Hill, Colten Hill, Jim Cooksey, and Mark Hively.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given as a gift of support to St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital at
