LUCILLE UTHOFF

DOROTHY LUCILLE WESTHOFF UTHOFF, age 102, formerly of rural Charleston, died Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born October 27. 1916, at Litchfield, IL, to the late Dietrich Gerdes Westhoff and Frances Margaret Schoen Westhoff, she had lived in rural Charleston a number of years where she and her husband were engaged in farming. She loved reading her bible, sewing, knitting and working in her yard. An avid bowler, she participated in the Charleston Women's bowling league a number of years. She was a long-time member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston where she was the oldest living member. In 2005, she moved to Sikeston to be closer to her daughter and family.

On July 18, 1944, she married Harold Joe Uthoff, who preceded her in death June 17, 1998.

Surviving are her grandsons, Steven (Sheila) Lee and Mark Lee, both of Sikeston; her sister, Jean Schultze of Troy, IL; five great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren,

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law, Dorothy Jean (Harold) Lee; three brothers, Lester Westhoff, Harold Westhoff and George Westhoff and by three sisters, Helen Gartner, Elda Weller and Alice Schwab.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Alan J. Wollenburg, pastor of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
