LULA JANE DANIEL PATTENGILL, age 82, a resident of rural Charleston, died at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 1, 1927 in Johnsonville, TN to the late Roy and Flora McCallabe Daniel. She had lived in Benton since 1941 and was a graduate of Benton High School. She worked at International Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau for a short time prior to assuming the role of bookkeeper to assist her husband in the family farm operation. Through her interest with the farm operation she was actively involved with the PCA and was a certified welder. She was a faithful member of the Unity Baptist Church in Benton where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School worker, and assisted in providing for church meals.
On October 23, 1947 she married Lee Pattengill who survives of the home.
Also surviving are four sons and daughters in law, Lee and Tina Pattengill Jr. of Scott City, William Daniel "Bill" and Diana Pattengill of Park Hills, Boyd Gene and Michelle Pattengill of Benton, and Joe Wade and Barbie Pattengill of White Water; one brother, Roy Daniel; four sisters, Oneida Zigler, Beulah Lee McClain, Betty Buck, and Gayla Voltz; also six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
One brother, Joe Marks Daniel, preceded her in death.
Friends will call after 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Visitation will resume at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Unity Baptist Church in Benton until the Funeral Hour at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dennis Lowe, Pastor of Unity Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Care, Susan Care, Justin Pattengill, Jacob Pattengill, Brandin Pattengill, Daniel Pattengill, and Jess Pattengill.
