Obituary

Mabel Renaud Tenkhoff, 93, of Charleston died Monday, July 16, 2018 at her home.

She was born January 28, 1925, in Texas Bend in Mississippi County, MO. She was the daughter of Henry L. and Appalonia "Appie" Unterreiner Renaud. She was married to Glen Tenkhoff who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her son, Doug Simmons of Charleston.

Mabel was a member of different church groups through the years and a past member of the Charleston Country Club. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone starting in 1943 after graduating from St. Henry High School. She started at the old switchboards in Charleston, later moving to be a Service Observer and Plant Assigner with the company, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Guardian Angel Parish in Oran for 35 years. After Glen's passing, she returned to Charleston in 2014 to resume membership at St. Henry's.

Survivors are her daughter, Sharon (Chris) Naas of Barlow, KY. Grandchildren; Jennifer (Burlin) Brower of Kevil, Ky., Eric Beardsley of St. Augustine, FL., Brandon (Lauren) Beardsley of St. Augustine, FL., Luke (Lindsay) Simmons of Cincinnati, OH, Amy (Neal) Thompson of Ankeny, IA and Ashlea (Matt) Hogancamp of Franklin, TN. Step Grandchildren, Sarah Naas of Bowling Green, KY and Jason Naas of Barlow, Ky. Great-Grandchildren: Ellie, Brant and Alexa Brower of Kevil, KY, Addisen and Kloe Beardsley of St. Augustine, FL., Olivia and Appie Thompson of Ankeny, IA, Wren Simmons of Cincinnati, OH, Ayla Hogancamp and expected baby brother Jude any day in Franklin, TN.

Mabel was preceded in death also by all her siblings: Mildred Renaud, Beatrice Baudendistel, Gertrude Stricker, Delbert Renaud, Catherine Pottinger, Henry Renaud and Harold Renaud.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. followed by sharing of memories.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. The Rev. David Dohogne, pastor of St. Henry; Rev. Randy Tochtrop, pastor of Guardian Angel, Oran; Msgr. Richard Rolwing and Rev.Normand Varone, both retired priests from Cape Girardeau, as celebrants.

Interment will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery (Hill) in Oran, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: David Renaud, Robert Renaud, John Renaud, James Pottinger, Phillip Pottinger, Stephen Stricker, Mike Renaud, Stuart Renaud, Russell Renaud and Brian Renaud.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Layton, Marvin Hatton, Jay Stephens, Larry Rost, Peter Rost, Jackie Whiteside, Rick LaPlant and Robert Boyer.

Memorials may be in the form of Masses to St. Henry Catholic Church, 304 Court Street, Charleston, MO. 63834
