MARY MAGDALENE "MAG" LINDSEY, age 91, died Monday, December 23, 2013, at her home in Charleston.
Born August 6, 1922, at Bertrand, MO, to the late William Columbus "Boss" Wilkerson and Effie Hurley Wilkerson, she had lived in Mississippi County her entire life where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston and the Rebekah Lodge of Charleston where she held a number of offices. She had been employed with the Brown Shoe Factory in Charleston for 25 years and the L.B. Price Company for 45 years until her retirement in 2010.
On April 6, 1946, she married Owen Edward 'Ed' Lindsey, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2003.
Surviving is one daughter, Trudy Lindsey Parker of Jackson, MO; one granddaughter, Emily Katherine Parker-Pullen of Charleston; one great granddaughter, Lindsey Page Pullen and one great grandson, Ryan Lee Parker Pullen both of Charleston.
Also surviving are two nephews, Terry Wilkerson of Mountain View, MO and Rodney Wilkerson of Memphis, TN; five nieces, Betty Robeson of Benton, MO; Sue Hodge of Bertrand, MO; Judy(Galan) Williams of Jackson, MO; Penny Oliver of Sikeston, MO and Patty Arington of Little Rock, AR; 23 great nieces and nephews, 40 great-great nieces and nephews and 13 great- great- great nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Wilkerson and Junior Wilkerson; one sister, Annalee Singleton and by two nephews, Mike Singleton and Billy Joe Wilkerson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013. Rev. Gerald Collier, of Ironton, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Wilkerson, David Adams, Tray Hodge, Terry Wilkerson, John Hodge and Tripp Culbertson.
