MARGARET ELLEN FORBEY, age 95, a resident of Charleston died Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.

She was born December 14, 1923, in the Lusk Chapel Community of Mississippi County, to John and Bertha Linebaugh Roach. She lived in Mississippi County her entire life where she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston and worked with the Brown Shoe Company.

On July 19, 1946, she married Willis Lee Forbey, who preceded her in death October 24, 1985.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Lee (Sue) Forbey of Stafford, VA and John Wayne (Joyce) Forbey of Goldsboro, NC; one daughter Margaret Ann (Ed) Swinney of Sikeston; one brother, John Roach of Nashville; one sister, Bettie Bawcum of Henderson, NC; also 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Gregory Swinney, and one sister, Martha Belle Slaten.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 12:30 p.m. until the Funeral Hour at 2:00 p.m. Rev. George Nite, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
