MARGARET ALICE GOLIGHTY VINSON, age 85, a resident of Charleston, died Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau.
Born November 3, 1933, in Mississippi County, Missouri, to the late Clarence Eugene and Katherine Bryars Golightly, she had lived in Charleston a number of years and had been employed as an in-home health care worker.
She was first married to William Amethyst Doyle, who preceded her in death. On May 3, 1958, she married Elmer Lee Vinson, who preceded her in death October 22, 2004.
Survivors include her son, William Voltaire Doyle of Charleston; daughters, Diann Vinson Hook of Bellingham, WA and Pamela Vinson of Charleston; two brothers, Clarence Golightly, Jr. of Belleville, IL and Bill Golightly of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Mary Matthews of Warrenton, MO; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Besides her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Broce Doyle; three brothers, Eugene Golightly, Donald Golightly and Harold Golightly; one sister, Ruby Brumley, and by two grandsons, James Leon Guthrie and Matthew Vincent Doyle.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10: 45 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: William V. Doyle, William A. Doyle, Christian Francis and Robert Sharpe.
