Obituary

MARGARET CRABTREE WARREN, age 93, a resident of rural Charleston, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.


She was born September 4, 1924 to Cecil C. and Elvie Mae Patton Crabtree in Illinois. At a young age, her family moved to Missouri and lived in New Madrid then Blodgett. Following her graduation from Blodgett High School she married and moved to the Warren family farm where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a floral designer and worked with her sister at the Flower Basket in Sikeston for a number of years. She later was employed with Affairs to Remember and Helen's Florist in Sikeston until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Unity Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.


On July 21, 1945 she married Robert L. "Bob" Warren who preceded her in death on December 3, 1997.


Surviving are two children, Retired LTC John G. Warren of Jefferson City and Susan K. Warren of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Emily Susan Warren (Jeff) Rice of Glendale, CA, Jacob "Jake" Patton Warren of Jefferson City, and John Henry Martin of Mexico; one great grandson, August Monroe Rice of Glendale, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jerry "Marty" Martin; two brothers, Gib Crabtree and Jim Crabtree, and one sister, Susie Crabtree.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at McMikle Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the Funeral Hour at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dennis Lowe, pastor of the Unity Baptist Church, and Rev. Dan Stephens, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Commerce, will officiate


Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.


Pallbearers will be Dale Stuckey, Jacob Warren, Jason Miller, Josh Payne, Jeff Ford, and Bill DeLine.
