Margie Rose Smee Double, age 82, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at her home in East Prairie.

She was born December 10, 1938, to Leslie William and Eda Mae Foulke Smee in Hays, KS.

Margie lived in Zurick, KS then later moved to East Prairie in 1970 and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She was an artist who loved to paint. Margie worked as a bookkeeper but really enjoyed horticulture.

On July 7, 1956 she married Carl Double, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2007.

Also surviving is her son, Terry Lynn (Desiree) Double of Plainville, KS; one brother, John Smee of Oklahoma; one sister, Judy Beldon of Kansas; and two grandsons, Travis and Trenton Double; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Clinton Smee; and two sisters, Barbara Rogers and Virginia Gilbert.

Graveside services will be held in the chapel at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, MO, Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
