SIKESTON — Margie Lee Martin, 78, died at her home in Sikeston, Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
She was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Choctaw, Ark., to the late Lonnie and Leota (Williams) Dempsey, she had been employed in production at Grove Manufacturing in Sikeston and later as a production supervisor at Tri-Con Industries in Cape Girardeau. She was also an active member and pastor's wife of New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Miner.
On Dec. 7, 1953, in Jonesboro, Ark., she was united in marriage to Bill C. Martin, and he survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Eugene Martin of Malden; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Stephen Shipley of Sikeston; two sisters, Sharon Robinson of Altimer, Ark. and Katherine Thomas of Statesville, N.C. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Bobby Martin of Bertrand, Shauna Pueppke of Ava, Justin Martin, and Ashley Martin of Sikeston, Josh Hickman of Columbia and Misty Spencer of Virginia; 18 great-grandchildren;one great-great-grandson; and two special caregivers, Abby and Lorie.
She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Carroll Martin; one granddaughter, Jennifer Martin; four brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be in the chapel at 10:30 am Saturday, July 16 with the Rev. Gary Myers of Sikeston officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
