MARIAN AVA WARREN, Age 85, formerly of Bertrand, MO, died Sunday, December 20, 2009, at the home of her niece at Louisville, KY.

Born April 12, 1924, at Biggers, Arkansas to the late Ewing and Eliza Eleanor Hill Helms, she had lived in Bertrand most of her life where she was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as church organist for many years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxilliary Post 4294 at Charleston and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Sikeston.

On December 20, 1946, she married Marion Thomas Warren, who preceded her in death November 9, 1988.

Surviving are: nephews, Bill Warren of Bertrand, Bob Warren of the state of GA, and Harold Lee Helms of Louisville; nieces, Pat Baker, Ava "Tootie" Brown and Marie Carroll all of Louisville, KY; also several great nieces and nephews.

One brother, William Harold Helms, preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009. Rev. Bob Herring of Cape Girardeau will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
