Mark Wamble

Marvin Lee "Mark" Wamble, age 88, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at his home in Bertrand.

Raised by his grandmother, Mark was born January 29, 1935, at East Prairie, MO, to the late Arthur Wamble and Ollie Hooker Wamble, who died in just days apart in 1936 from influenza. For a number of years, he lived in St. Louis where he was employed with General Motors until his retirement in 1992.  He and his wife then returned to Mississippi County and settled in Bertrand.  Mark was a strong Christian man and was a member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston.

On September 17, 1960, he married Jackie Sipp, who survives of the home.

Also surviving is his son and daughter in law, Jeff (Cindy) Wamble of Bertrand; his grandson, Cory Jeffrey Wamble (Abby) of Nashville, TN; his granddaughter, Carrie Dea Wamble of Bertrand; his great grandson, Noah Jeffrey Wamble; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Wamble and his sister, Doris Wamble Roberts.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.  Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Clay Sipp, Randy Sipp, Jonathan Sipp, Eddie Sipp, Ricky Sipp and Robbie Sipp.
