Martha Lou Chandler Norris

Martha Lou Chandler Norris, age 77, of Marble Hill, MO., died Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Born February 29, 1948, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Laudie Forrest Chandler and Elzetta Jordan Chandler, Martha grew up in Mississippi County and then lived in Brunswick, MO, before settling in Marble Hill where she would live the rest her life.

On October 30, 1971, she married Benjamin Harold “Benny” Norris, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1999.

Survivors include her sisters, Freda (Glenn) Quertermous and Debbie Chandler; her brothers, Joe (Lisa) Chandler and Forrest (Susie) Chandler; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilford Chandler, Billy Chandler and Robert Chandler and her sisters, Mary Ann Jones and Zetta Mae Bell.

Family and friends may assemble for a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, MO.
