Obituary

MARTIN EDWARD PAZDERA, JR., Age 80, a resident of Sikeston, formerly of Charleston, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.

Born August 7, 1937, at Dardanelle, AR, to the late Martin A. Pazdera and Josephine Prochazka Pazdera, he had lived in Charleston most of his life and was a 1956 graduate of St. Henry Catholic School. He had been employed as a foreman with the Ralph Anderson Lumber Company at New Madrid a number of years until his retirement. A member of St. Henry Catholic Church of Charleston, he had served as an usher and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. After moving to Sikeston, he and his family became members of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Sikeston. A U.S. Army Veteran, he had been stationed in Germany and also served 4 years in the Missouri National Guard.

On December 29, 1959, he married to Peggy Jane Smith, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are one son, Martin Edward Pazdera, II of Fort Worth, TX; two daughters, Julia Martina Conley of Sikeston and Susan (Greg) Johnson of Sikeston; one brother, George (Carolyn) Pazdera of Florida; one sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Nelson of Texas; one sister in law, Delores Pazdera; five grandchildren, Michael Todd Conley, II; Jonathon Allen Grogan, Jr., Gregory Scott Johnson, Karlie Olivia Pazdera and Kaylynn Grace Pazdera. Also, a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons in law, Mike Conley and John Grogan, two brothers, Victor Pazdera and Joe Pazdera and one sister in law, Mary Pazdera.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Parish prayers recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017, at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. Father David Dohogne, pastor, will serve as celebrant.

Full Military Graveside rites will follow at the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
