Obituary
MARY COLLEEN CUNNINGHAM MCCUBBINS, age 85, a resident of Bertrand, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
She was born July 7, 1925 in Bertrand to the late John and Maggie York Cunningham.
A lifelong resident of Bertrand, she was co-owner and manager of McCubbins Grocery for several years, and was an active member and former Sunday school teacher at the Church of God of Prophecy.
In 1942 she married W.H. "Bill" McCubbins who preceded her in death on June 15, 2008.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, William Michael "Mike" and Patty McCubbins of Benton, IL; two sisters, Geraldine Fodge of Sikeston and Norma Cutter of Sacramento, CA; also 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marianne McCubbins, one grandson, one brother, and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with Rev. Jim Malugen, pastor of the First Christian Church in Charleston, officiating.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
