Obituary

MARY E. ROBERTS FRENCH, Age 89, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, August 01, 2013 at the Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

Born February 23, 1924, at Charleston, MO, to the late William Noah and Florence Ella Lane Roberts, she had lived in Charleston most of her life where she was employed at the Brown Shoe Company for 42 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston and also served as an office holder with the Shoe Factory Union.

On May 29, 1942, she married Wilbur Lawrence "Bo" French, Sr., who preceded her in death May 27, 1995.

Surviving is: one son, Wilbur L. "Larry" French, Jr. and his wife Linda, of Valle Mines, MO; one brother, Jimmy Roberts of Church Point, LA; three grandchildren, Kimberly French, Michelle French and Greg French; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Roberts, Paul Roberts and George Roberts and by one sister, Frances Roberts.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Ted Wimberley, pastor the New Bethel Baptist Church near Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
