Obituary

Mary Joyce Keene Bright, age 81, of East Prairie, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at Mercy-Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born November 15, 1943, at East Prairie, MO, to the late Eleria Theodore "Ted" Keene and Goldie Juanita Carnahan Keene, she was a graduate of East Prairie High School and had lived in East Prairie her entire life.  For over 30 years she was employed at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, serving in many capacities.  She had attended the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston the past several years.

Surviving are her daughters, Ada Denise (Robbie) Moore and Teresa Bright (Jeff) Pearson all of Dogwood; her grandchildren, Madeleine Grace Pearson, Emma Katherine Pearson, Julianna Goldie Pearson and Jack Nolan Pearson; also, her nieces, Stephanie, Penny and Tracie and their families, as well as several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chester "Bert" Keene.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Joe McCollough, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Earl Bohnert, Russ Dial, Billy Williams, Robbie Moore, Jack Pearson and Jeff Pearson.
