MARY FRANCES STALLINGS MARSHALL, Age 83, a resident of Sikeston and formerly of Charleston, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospice House in St. Louis, MO.
Born July 16, 1926, at Anniston, Missouri, to the late Golden Russell and Hazel Leona Stewart Stallings, she had lived in Charleston most of her life where she was employed with the Brown Shoe Company for over 45 years and served as the Union Steward for a number of years until her retirement. She was then employed by the Charleston R-1 School District in the school cafeteria until she retired. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, was a past president and member of the Daughters of Isabella, member and officer of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and had served as a Boy Scout leader a number of years.
On June 12, 1943, she married Robert Franklin Marshall, who preceded her in death in 1978.
Surviving are: one son and daughter in law, William "Bill" and Lydia Marshall of Sikeston; three daughters and two sons in law, Hazel and Harold Morris of Arnold, MO; Anna Frances Tanner of Parsons, TN and Mary Lucille and Ed Bussman of Moscow Mills, MO; 15 grandchildren , 30 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Franklin "Frankie" Marshall; one daughter, Barbara Marie Cockrum; three brothers, Robert Stallings, Donald Eugene Stallings and Albert Stallings; three sisters, Lucille Jankowski, Anita Rose Stallings and Joann Patrick; also by one granddaughter, Victoria Marshall.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Rev. Glenn Eftink, pastor, serving as celebrant.
Cremation will follow.
Pallbearers will be members of her family.
