Obituary

MARY RUTH ROACH STAUFFER, AGE 80, a resident of the Bement Community near Sikeston, died Tuesday, April 05, 2011 at the Charleston Manor.

Born August 4, 1930, in the Lusk Chapel Community of Scott County, to the late James O. and Fannie Holder Roach, she was a graduate of the Diehlstadt High School and had lived in the Bement Community most of her life.

On November 3, 1948, she married Howard William Stauffer, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2006.

Surviving are: one son and daughter in law, Sidney and Kathy Stauffer of Gillispie, IL; two daughters, Lisa Stauffer of the Bement Community and Gail Utnage of Fuquay Varina, NC; three sisters, Dorothy Jean Crader of Memphis, TN; Beulah Mae Fowler of Lubbock, TX and Joann Robinette of Union City, TN; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

One son, Dennis Lee Stauffer; two brothers, Herbert Roach and James Lee Roach and two sisters, Helen Galemore and Vivian Baker all preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home. Rev. Ted Wimberley, pastor of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
