MARYLEEN CHAPMAN JACKSON, age 90, a resident of Charleston, died Friday, Feb 1, 2013 at the Charleston Manor.
She was born September 16, 1922 in Campbell to the late Charles David and Millie Sebastian Cobb Chapman. She had lived in Charleston since 1944 and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where she served in various capacities including Sunday School teacher, choir member and pianist.
On December 22, 1944 she married E. Paul Jackson who survives.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Kay Bates of Albuquerque, NM; one son and daughter in law, Paul David and Karen Jackson of Cinnaminson, NJ; and three grandchildren, Tamela Bates Pelletier, Cynthia Bates Gamble, both of Albuquerque and Kelly Jackson Mayberry of Cinnaminson, NJ, also 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son in law, Crandall Bates, two brothers, Milford Chapman and Joe Chapman, and one sister, Saraleen Virgin.
Visitation will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, 608 S. Main Street in Charleston, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, and then on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 9:00 am until the service hour at 10:00 am. Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
