Matthew Ray Dalton, age 42, a resident of Sikeston, MO, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri.
Matthew was born on December 11, 1983, in Sikeston, MO, to Gerald Wayne “Buster” Dalton and Peggy Warth Price. He was a graduate of Sikeston High School and lived in Sikeston his entire life.
Matt was best known for his vibrant and silly personality, infectious laugh, humorous taste in t-shirts, a generous heart, and for never meeting a stranger. He could light up a room with his smile and did not hold back when he had something to say! He loved his family and friends fiercely, and there is nothing he would not do for any of them. For the last 5 years, he has been employed at DCB (Discount Cigarettes and Beer) in Sikeston, where he greatly enjoyed interacting with all who came into the store and considered his co-workers a part of his family. He made an impact on every person he met and leaves a deep hole in the hearts of many.
Surviving is his mother, Peggy; his son, Haven; his brothers and sisters, Kenneth & Lisa Dalton (Jared, Aubree, Ashley, Brandon), of Kewanee, MO; Amy Hartlein Besemer & Andrew (Logan and Lela) of Auburn, AL; Travis & Donna Russom (Brianna, Cody, Andrew, Evan) of Matthews, MO; Shawnna Hartlein Sullivan & Dave (Kyle) of Ocala, FL; Joseph Hartlein & Christina (Dameion, Rylee, Dalton, Zoey-Jo, Brooklyn); and Ryan & Alesia Hubbard (Chloe, Braxton, Kally, Della, London, Landon).
He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Dalton, sister, Misty Delana Dalton, and grandmother, Helen Maxine Dalton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until funeral hour at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2026, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. Rob Murphy will officiate.
In accordance with Matt’s wishes, cremation will follow.
